A calmer day today at Strumble with a light SW wind and it was much warmer too. There was a strong tide running which may have accounted for the lower numbers than of late. From the 15-20s of the past week it was down to 6-8 over the session. Local birder Adrian Rogers reported having seen 20ish commons and four rissos earlier in the morning before I arrived with the commons feeding in the area for an hour or so and the rissos being very distant. Things for me were quiet with just a few sightings in the tide race as the few that were there showed reasonably well. Numbers were bolstered when I spotted three porpise feeding off Mackrel Point. A brief but welcome sighting given the low numbers.
