Strumble diary: Strumble Revisited!

Although the PCNP footpath remains closed, the Lookout at Strumble Head is not on the path and is accessible without breaking the rules on social distancing.  Welsh Government permission to drive to local places for recreational and well-being purposes on the 8th of June has then made it possible for us to do some ad hoc watches while maintaining a two metre distance.
There were reports of  circa 8 Risso's Dolphins seen and heard very close in from the look-out on Tuesday the 9th of June.
On Saturday Holly and Ken were watching porpoises when a couple of Minke Whales decided to upstage the Porp's, much to Holly and Ken's delight! Over the next five days They put in appearances with an exceptional series of sightings in flat calm conditions on the Tuesday afternoon! (see previous post "Minke Magic"...)
We have also been able to access the Green Breakwater again where our semi resident, over summering Bottlenose Dolphins have returned.

I had two on thee 8th of June Ken followed up with two perhaps 3 more 0n the 13th. On the 21st  Fran and I had at least 9 perhaps 12  mainly distant, and what appeared to be two mothers with juveniles, one of which was very pale although no really good views or images.

So if not entirely on track with the full survey effort with our trusty volunteers, we are at least able to keep some track of what is going on despite a nine week hiatus!
