Great day out!

For once the weather forecast was pretty accurate giving us calm seas and good visibility under a broiling sun! All in all we encountered over 200 common dolphins in eight separate encounters.

Icing on the cake was a sighting of one, perhaps two Minke Whales. See what you think from Josh Pegley's images of the whale/s,

Plenty of shearwaters showing well throughout the trip giving great views!

We also paid a visit to the gannet colony on Grassholm which looked as if there were areas on the island that were no longer occupied but that was only our impression. Otherwise it was its usual raucous and rather smelly spectacle.
Off then to finish the trip around the south side of Skomer where the puffins and other auks put on a splendid show

The trip back into Neyland was pretty uneventful but nice to get a good view of the coast and the haven. All our passengers seemed very happy and we, Sea Trust, had also gained valuable data on another cetacean survey thanks to their support. Thanks to all of them, as well as Skipper Andy, and mate Ian on the Cartlett Lady, for continuing in  helping us to deliver real positive eco tourism!

No doubt Ken will add to the blog when he has had time to sort through his several hundred images , but thanks to Josh for all the images on this post!
