Strumble Diary 26/04/2025

It was a 50/50 call as to whether I went out this morning as the weather forecast wasn't too good so I left it untill this morning to make the call. First peek out of the curtains wasn't promising but after my morning cuppa things looked a lot better so I decided to go. As I topped Stop and Call the skies over the sea looked to be breaking a bit so that made my decision the right one. I arrived around 08.15 on the dropping tide with the sky mostly overcast but improving and the sea state 1-2 with the wind southerly off the shore.Vis was good and the tide race yet to form. First sighting came after 15 minutes or so of a single porpoise distant to the NE. Then as the tide picked up more and more sightings of porpoise moving in. Today for a change most of the action was in the tide race in front of me so a chance for some closer shots than the past few outings. Although they're harder to track when they're close it does have the benefit of better detail when you can catch them in the lens.

One marked animal today. A returner I've seen several times in the past (Highlighted below). On my way up from the ledge I was greeted at the lookout by a couple I've met a few times who are on holiday again this year. During our chat and looking out over the sea a small group of Commons passed by giving them a nice start to their sea watch. My camera was tucked away in the bag at this stage so no images of them I'm afraid.
