A good day today with the tides being favourable for The Bottlenose off the breakwater and the Porpoise off Strumble. There were two dolphins at the breakwater's end when I got there this morning, with one being an often previously seen animal with a face deformity. Looking back over previous images it seems the growth is getting bigger and is now starting to move the lower jaw out of alignment with the upper jaw. It's still surviving though which I suppose is a good thing. There was a lot of milling around with just brief interactions between the two.
Off to Strumble then to join the Thursday survey team for their regular watch. The action was slow to start but as the tide race picked up some porpoise started to move in, mostly staying well into the tide race in the rougher swells. As has been the case recently they quickly started dropping back west with the tide and soon were showing distantly off the lighthouse.
