A little of Strumble first off.
First chance of the early morning dropping tide so I made my way to Strumble and arrived just before 8am. The outer tide race was underway and I soon spotted two very distant porps. That was it untill an hour later when the inner tide race formed off the point and I got a very brief sighting of my third porpoise. Sadly it never showed again and after that there was nothing. Around 10.15 I decided to return to the bay to see if there were any BND around.
Indeed there were and they were active. In fact they were the most active I've seen them in a long while. There were seven off the breakwater when I arrived and two were foraging right off the end while the other five were busy socialising and playing around. Occasionally they would split and there'd be three in one group with the other two fooling around some distance away making it difficult to know which ones to concentrate on.
I spent quite a while with them and it was good to notice that the incoming ferry didn't disturb them at all. I guess they're getting used to it now. At one point the (two) were playing with a large jellyfish with one of them wearing it like a hat. Cliff had said he'd often seen this behaviour but it was a first for me. Some different fins today so we're getting a mix of animals also.
