This entry covers two seperate days.
Trying to catch the Rissos involves spending a lot of time at Strumble or striking it lucky in a shorter session. As it happens I had no luck either way. On the 29th I didn't see any but at least the porpoise were moving. Not in big numbers but it made for a more interesting watch.
Today the 31st when I arrived at Strumble, there was one space left in the car park. It looked like Autumn had arrived and so had the birders. The lookout was full to the brim so I was relegated to the side room as it was too showery to be out front. It was nice to catch up with some that I knew though, and they did call out fin sightings for me. The Rissos did show but very briefly. A quick surface for air and they were gone and not sighted again by any of us, no doubt travelling through on the tide. No Porpoise as it was very early in the tide but I did have a good showing from a pod of Commons which came in and were feeding for a while in front of the lookout.
