Risso's still hanging around Strumble....

An early evening visit to Strumble with Wdigbirder at first produced a couple of Porpoise sightings and one which looked like two fighting or at least involved in some very close quarter  interaction...
Hundreds of Manxies were streaming by but nothing much out of the ordinary bird-wise despite the south westerly gales
And then a large dark shape burst out  through a wave a big blunt head and large hooky fin! I had been searching flat calm sea for them for several days and had no sign but now in amongst the swells one and then another more distant and grayer animal broke the surface. We saw at least two but maybe three animals over the next half hour or so but always only two or three  glimpses with little in the way of patern on whichj we could predict the next surfacing, eventually at least two returned heading back towards the bay from whemce they appeared to have come .Frustratingly magical and as enigmatic as ever!
