Some 20+ years ago when my interest in cetaceans was aroused by a sighting of rissos off Swansea I attended an evening of cetacean identification. While it was interesting we were encouraged to attend a practical on Strumble the following Saturday to get ‘your eye in’. It was good advice and we did see lots of porpoise.
Yesterday I did a shore based cetacean survey from Rest Bay, Porthcawl and in the hour had 3 porpoise. Stevo only had 2 on Strumble!! Yippee for the first and probably only time Porthcawl outporped Strumble.
