When you approach Strumble Hd and see upward of sixty Gannets over the tide race it's a good bet there's some porp action going on below. That's exactly what was happening this morning. Arrived at 07:15 to see upward of thirty porpoise over the spread of the race for about a 1/4 mile or so. The feeding was fast and furious with the Gannets keen to get in on the action too. Speaking to a birdwatcher named Red revealed that two pods of Commons passed Strumble yesterday afternoon. One of seven close in to the island and one of about thirty about a half mile out. Lots of Manx sheerwater about and a female Sparrow Hawk buzzed us as it hugged the rocks on a fly past.
