Another weekend gone by and another trip out on the Cartlet lady on blue seas and near clear skies (well part of the time) delivered a great day and some wonderful photo opportunities. The company was excellent and spirits high as we left the heads and struck out for the deeps. It wasn't long before we came across our first small pod of commons who approached us briefly and left to carry on feeding. This was to be the trend for the day with several encounters but none staying around for long. Like last weekend they were fairly quiet with only a few animals leaping. I estimate there were up to 25% calves in most of the groups we encountered and this could be one reason they were not as fast moving and acrobatic as usual. This is a small sample of the images I took and all 24 dolphin images that made the cut can be viewed in more detail on my Flickr photostream by following the link. Thanks again to Cliff and Skipper Andy.
