As the year comes to a close, the elements have not exactly been conducive for cetacean watching. However on Saturday and Sunday half a dozen or more Gannets feeding off Coed y Bryn/Pen Anglas signposted the fact that porpoises were feeding. Given the distance and extremely poor visibility we had no way of accurately estimating numbers but probably around half a dozen.
Yesterday Jens and I paid Strumble a brief visit. A near gale from the north west was messing up the receding tide and again the visibility was poor with heavy showers interspersed with fine drizzle didn't help. None the less we spotted several porpoises moving up with the tide showing briefly in the sloshy sea. No chance of a pic; but we were there and they were there so another positive entry into the Strumble diary!
