Strumble Diary 18/05/2019

An early start to catch the start of the ebb tide as with a strong tide expected the window of action could be short. I needn't have worried because the action started an hour after high water and for the next three hours there were a good number of porpoise feeding vigorously all around the waters in front of me. At one time there were up to thirty gannets in attendance and I'd guess around forty porpoise throughout the three hour session. One marked animal today, although it was a fleeting glimpse at a distance but hopefully enough detail to  ID it or add it to the catalogue. With luck
the sunshine will last through the day and maybe I'll get a chance at the flood tide in the early evening.
