Good afternoon Cliff ,
I am on Skokholm for the week primarily to see storm petrols , shearwaters and some seawatching. I got extremely lucky yesterday evening when a thresher breached off the lighthouse, about two hundred yards out towards Grassholm , just caught the first breach , got the glasses on thinking it was the commons turning up when it did a second full breach , quickly realised what it was , went for the camera but sadly did not repeat . Kept watching for another hour and a half but nothing although saw one common feeding under gannets well out to the south , probably more but very difficult to see with the swell as it was at that distance . Hoping for more the next couple of days , Cheers Steve Roberts .
Thanks for this Steve, a really valuable record for this little understood species!
