Strumble Diary 20/08/2019

A good start to the session today when ten minutes after arriving I spotted around twenty common dolphin well spread out about 3/4 mile distant. They were heading NNE and were feeding as they travelled pushing up lots of spray as they did so.   As the tide race formed the porpoise moved in with good numbers throughout feeding well. There were a couple of larger groups of up to six animals in each pushing through at speed and I managed to capture one marked porpoise for the ID project. I also spotted two females with calves travelling together later in the session.
