Strumble Diary 25/05/2021 (Return of the Rissos)

A bright morning to start the day but it soon clouded over and the chill NW wind meant the layers had to stay on for now at least. However, the sight of a Rissos dolphin feeding for over an hour a quarter to half mile or so out in front of us made the chill fade away to the back of our thoughts. It was later joined by another two (adult & juvenile) who stayed around for ten minutes or so before they all moved off to the west together. The tide race by now had built to a steady torrent and the porpoises started showing. A couple of singles followed a while later by a group of three showing well in the swells. At least one marked animal for the ID project so, happy days! A selection of todays images below. Enjoy!
