A beautiful morning today with calm seas and a gentle breeze. I arrived shortly before 9am just as the ebb flow was getting underway. Some ten minutes in I spotted a pod of around twenty or so Commons off to the NW at about a mile and a half. I watched them for fifteen minutes or so as they travelled westward. There was a break in sightings then untill around 45 mins later a small group of five or so Commons entered the tide race from the north and spent ten minutes or so feeding before moving on. Next came the porpoise. Not big numbers and not showing very well either as they chased fish around on the far edge of the tide race. As is typical the action quickly move off to the west as Holly and the Thursday volunteers arrived. I stayed a while longer as we observed several animals feding beyond the lighthouse. I ended my session around 12.30pm.
