Strumble Diary 18/01/2022 (Part One)

Another excellent survey at Strumble this morning. As I arrived there were Commons seemingly all over the tide race. Everwhere I looked there were dashes and splashes from the feeding dolphin. At one stage there must have been well above a hundred out there, with some moving out as others came in from the N and NW. In contrast to yesterday the porpoise were there also but mainly kept to the east of Mackrel point. Easily 15+ feeding under around tewenty very attentive Gannets. Eventually the dolphin started to move off to the west which gave the porpoise a bit more area to feed in so they moved into the tide race in front of the lookout which pleased me greatly as it affordrd some better shots. One marked animal as far as I could see so another for the ID project be it new or returning.

Part two of this blog entry can be found below this one and deals soley with the dolphins. Enjoy!!
