The Monday Photo ID team Fran, Andy, Chris, Dawn amd Cliff gathered at Strumble more in hope than expectation. The new moon was creating a huge tide race with standing waves of 4+ metres equivalent to Sea State 10! Of course little deters Team Sea Trust and so cameras were readied, Andy got the recording forms ready and binoculars were brought to bear on the huge rolling white peaked surf. Apart from Gannets, Fulmars, Gulls and shagarants.Cetaceans were absent but we continued to scan the troughs and breakers.
The first hour passed with nothing to record. We were becoming convinced that our watch was in vain when Fran spotted a porp and then for a few minutes, there were several sightings including a mother and calf, the calf actually breaching, looking tiny. And that was it apart from one distant animal seen by Fran. Not epic and only a record shot mother and calf, but considering the conditions Strumble turned up trumps again!
