Strumble Diary 27/02/2022

A beautiful afternoon but with a stiff SE wind greeted me as I arrived at Strumble Hd. The tide was rising and had been for the past two hours or so.First sightings were of a pair of porpoise feeding off the lighthouse to the NW followed by a single out in front of the lookout some 300mtrs or so. The number of Gannets started to rise which signalled the arrival of even more porpoise with 20 or so wheeling through the skies over around 15-20 porpoise by the end of the session. The action was moving west to east with the tide seeing most of the action happening off  Pen Caer AKA Mackrel Pt. Bonus was a uniquely marked porpoise toward the end of the session (last three images) so we'll have to see if it's new or a returner. All in all a good session for this time of year so I came away a happy camper.
