Strumble Diary 21/05/2022

After a week concentrating on the bottlenose in Fishguard Bay it was back to the point for some porpoise action. Weather was good and I had the time for a longer than usual session. Mind you five hours sat on the headland above the point in a warming light wind with the sun on your back (mostly) is no hardship at all. The remains of the flood tide tide race was attracting a good number of porpoise with a group feed of some 8-10 animals going on until long after high water. On the turn of the tide things quietened down over the slack water period before more animals moved in as the ebb flow got underway. No big group feed over the next three hours or so but a steady stream of porpoise moving against the dropping tide. Nothing really close but near enough for some decent shots. As the westerly tide flow dropped away so did the porpoise so I called it a day and made my way home.
