Strumble Diary 22/09/2022

As the nights draw in and the sun rises later, that very much dictates the start and finish times of my surveys as we head through autumn into winter. Thus it was an 08.15am start and even then with the overcast conditions the light was way less than perfect and indeed as large dark clouds passed over shooting conditions were nigh on impossible at times. As the tide picked up pace a few porpoise started showing to the north at distance with one or two venturing closer in as the tide race angle brought it neaer to the lookout. Whilst the images are not the best I did capture a returning porpoise for the ID project which was very pleasing and brightened up an otherwise uneventful session.

Fresh off the beach this pup was happily foraging close to shore

This dogfish made a tasty snack for this male Grey Seal
