Strumble Diary 01/10/2022

A quiet watch porpoise wise today, in fact a complete blank. I arrived at the top of the flood tide and stayed until well into the ebb tide. Several birders were in residence at the lookout and had seen common dolphin earlier on in the morning but no reports of porpoise from them either. As the tide picked up it's pace the swells were building and out of those swells to the east came a group of around a dozen common dolphin with several young calves amongst them. This was the highlight of the watch and as the tide started to drop away and with no further sightings I made my way home.
