Strumble Diary 25/04/2023

An early start to catch the sweet spot of the rising tide today. When I arrived the tide race was just starting to form and within fifteen minutes half a dozen or so Commons came in to feed. They pushed steadily NE with the tide making way several minutes later for the first of the porpoise. At the peak there were 12-15 porpoise feeding over a 200mtr stretch of the tide race and in the calmer area which forms on its SE side nearest the lookout. Numbers declined over the session but as I left after three hours there were still a couple of porps guiding the gannets to the fish. I love to see what the gannet's are catching as it shows what the porpoise are feeding on and the last two images show it was a possible early mackrel and a garfish.
