The weather opened out late morning so I joined Holly, Eva, Ffion and Steve who were out for the Wednesday survey. Despite all those eyes on the water the two hour of their survey drew a blank with no porpoise sightings. They returned to base after the survey and I remained there in the hope of some late sightings. There was a brisk Westerly wind but on a reasonably small tide the tide race was very late forming and only produced a weak flow.
Some four and a half hour into the six hour tide a few porpoise did arrive, about seven in total over the following hour so it was worth the extra time spent. The weak tide race soon dropped away and as it did the porpoise moved off also.
