Great to get out to sea yesterday on the Cartlett Lady with Sea Trust. A long day out setting off around 10 a.m. and back just before 7 p.m. After a quietish trip out to Grassholm to see the Gannets with a brief, distant, view of a Minke Whale and a small pod of Dolphins we headed further out past The Smalls and in the afternoon encountered many pods of Common Dolphins and, in an area with much bird activity, another Minke obliged with close views.
A dozen or more Storm Petrels were seen and several groups of Common Terns as well as plenty of the "background" birds - Manx Shearwaters, Guillemots, Gannets, Kittiwakes and other Gulls.
Many thanks to Cliff and Sea Trust for a great day out and to skipper Andy for a safe, comfortable voyage.
