A Quiet Strumble Day. 27/06/2025

A good blow from the SW at Strumble today giving large swells in the tide race. Excellent I thought for some dynamic porpoise action. Not to be though as I only saw two for the whole survey, one breached going with the tide and just a very brief sighting of another ten minutes later. The only exciting moments were seeing the Fishguard Lifeboat "Blue Peter VII" thrashing through the swells. Not sure if it was an emergency shout or just an excercise. My fallback plan was to see if there were any Bottlenose about, but with the now low and still dropping tide I wasn't even hopeful of that. I was in luck though as there were three animals milling around outside the North breakwater. I had thirty or so minutes with them before they moved off heading out toward Pen Anglas.
