Ramsey Shines in the Sunshine

Myself together with Holly and the Tuesday crew of Rob, David and Mair set off for Ramsey in high spirits and with a car full of kit. Clear blue skies all the way there and Ramsey Island and the sound looked stunning as we walked the path toward the old copper mines. The flood flow was just coming to an end so we had a bit of a wait until the ebb flow started and the porpoise moved down with the tide. While we waited it was a good chance to capture one of the Gannets that were moving along the sound and a couple of the three Red Kites that passed overhead on their way over to the island to forage. About seven or so porpoise moved through during our time there with two notable marked animals amongst them. One had a double notch on the fin (returning, seen before) and the other with an obvious skin dissorder. This is what makes the effort worthwhile and keeps the fin ID project moving along.  Enjoy!!
