Strumble Diary from Andrew Crowder (30/1/22)

A Crowder

to me
Hi Cliff,
Called in at Strumble at 09:00 today just in time to see 30-40 dolphin passing rapidly through to wards the west, towards a smaller group beyond the lighthouse that appeared to be feeding. They disappeared from sight quickly but 45 minutes later another similar sized group passed by, heading in the same direction. Huge numbers of feeding seabirds across the whole tide race but no cetaceans in amongst them. A local from Dinas told us that he’s been catching mackerel recently after having none all summer - perhaps a clue to what’s attracting the dolphin?
Take care,
Andrew
