Not so common sighting from Andrew Crowder yesterday (10/7/25)

 Hello,

12:00 Today
A group of approximately 12 Common Dolphin seen distantly from Dinas Head. Generally travelling west with some possible feeding activity, probably deeper down as the surfacing was infrequent and the gulls sitting nearby were uninterested.
Regards
Andrew

Thanks for this Andrew, since the spring, sightings of Common Dolphins have been few and far between with none on our surveys over the past month or two!  The last sighting I have was from Ken at Strumble on the 9th pof May. If I remember correctly our last Risso's sighting was back in November 2024, all a bit strange. Maybe they are all hunting Octopus off the South Coast of England where they are having "a plague of octopus"!
