Thar she blows....

We believe we saw blows from two sei whales whilst sailing off the Bristol channel last week. They were appx 200 metres off our stern. The blows were substantial, and quite different from the more usual minke. Gareth James

Thanks for this Gareth, Fin Whales have been recorded in our waters at this time over the past few years and are more likely than Sei, although its a possibility. I have included one of Rich Crossens shot of some blows from a group of Fin Whales we encountered in the Celtic Deep last August.
