Strumble diary : Nothing much to start with and then suddenly they are there!

We arrived just after lunch with the sea pretty flat and uniform and the sky overcast . Perfect conditions to see things and strangely enough , nothing showing! We scanned and picked a couple of fin tip sightings so difficult to spot they would have been easy to miss even in calm conditions. The tide began to pick up and I just managed to spot a distant animal perform a full breach before dissappearing without a trace! bit by bit minute by minute the Porpoises became active on the surface until at the end of the hours click count we averaged the hour at 60, or one surfacing per minute. Our best estimate was 25-30 animals but as usual there could easily have been twice that amount!
