Bottlenoses galore

Last night there were at least 20 (max 30) bottlenose dolphins in Newport Bay. They were busy feeding but put on an amazing display for us! The most noticeable thing about the pod was the amount of calves that were there - at least a third of the dolphins were very young calves, some really tiny! Lovely to see so many young ones. One in particular still had really distinctive foetal folds, it must of been very fresh!! The dolphins hung around in the bay for hours breaching, tail slapping, spy hopping and jumping higher than I've ever seen them before. It was incredible!
