A little bit late at Strumble this afternoon and the Porpoises were beyond the lighthouse and distant do these pic's are little more than record shots'

The light was unbelievable on this sunny warm November day, the sea extremely calm. so I worked hard scanning into the distance. My perseverance was well rewarded when about a mile and a half away I spotted a pod of Risso's Dolphins moving purposefully from East to West.
Again the shots are no more than record shots but considering the extreme range (around a mile and a half) and the fact these were at 200 X digital it really does show how far cameras have come along in recent years. These Risso's would have been invisible in normal conditions, it just goes to show how critical conditions and visibility can be in cetacean recording.
