First decent day for a while to get out to Strumble. Stijn, Anita and Dave and myself spent an hour as the tide peaked this morning with only a couple of Porpoise sightings.
A plane flew by reasonably low and I reflected on the fact that this seems to have been the way the SCANS: (Small Cetaceans in the European Atlantic and North Sea) had been conducted from the air.
I found it hard to believe they would have spotted any of our porpoises in the choppy waters of the tide race!
Later on (3-4 pm) I did better with quite a few sightings but all brief and in the rough water of the tide race no porp pictures but a nice skein of Scoter!
