Strumble Diary 22/08/2017

A late entry for yesterday. A morning session on the dropping tide was very quiet to start with very little bird action and even less in the way of cetaceans. Joined later by Holly, Rob, and Fiona we waited and watched as the tide race formed. A few porpoise started to forage and that soon subsided as the very strong tide pushed all the action off to the west of the lighthouse. With time moving on I decided to chance the breakwater in the hopes of seeing some bottles but that was very quiet also and again joined by team Sea Trust we spent a couple of hours there looking at a very attractive cruise ship and seeing not a lot else. With a stiff SE wind we were forced to come off the end of the breakwater into a more sheltered spot for the remainder of our time there. East is least says the old fihermans saying and I guess that yesterday it proved right.
