Strumble Diary 30/08/2017

After the excitement of the boat trip on Saturday it was back to coast watching at Strumble today. Cliff was already there with Holly and Brad arriving soon after I did. Things had been slow to that point but I had spotted a mother and calf Common Dolphin about 400mtrs out. They passed through and headed out to the NE up the tide stream. With that the porpoise started to arrive but were quite distant and fast moving. Lots of dash and splash but not showing too well. As the tide race moved closer in the porps kept their distance and remained so for the rest of the time we were there. A couple of seals close by kept us entertained as she courted the male close to the rocks. We ended the session around 2.10pm.
