Stena survey 31/08/17

Steve, Holly and Theresa ventured out on the Stena Europe in sea state two and blue skies. After the Cartelett Lady megafauna trip we were full of anticipation. Holly had the first sighting with a single common dolphin off Strumble amongst a mixed flock of gannets and kittiwakes. We had an hour then of nothing until Steve decided to make a cup of coffee and naturally missed the next pod of common dolphin. The sea state went down to zero, perfect conditions but still very little to be seen except a couple of single porpoise sightings as we entered Rosslare. We have been informed that there is a single bottlenose dolphin that hangs around the harbour in Rosslare, so we are keeping our eyes open for it whilst we eat our dinner. We hope for a more exciting journey on the way back to Fishguard.
