As many of you know we have been running the Porpoise Fin ID project now for the past year under the leadership of Holly the project co-ordinator. Thanks to a successful funding appeal we have been able to expand the project and are actively looking for more volunteers and are looking to expand our range of survey sites. To enable this there was a need to purchase further essential photographic equipment. Yesterday the 25th April Holly and I paid a visit to Carmarthen cameras to purchase a new 150-600mm Tamron lens to compliment the second camera in readiness for the evolving project.
A really big thanks to Carmarthen cameras for helping out by donating a state of the art UV filter which not only filters the ultra violet light but also acts as a protector for the lens glass which is essential to prevent accidental scratches etc. Special thanks to Joe for his assistance and some excellent suggestions on how we may be able to team up and raise funds going forward.
