12.30pm two hours into the ebb tide and I was arriving at Strumble. Volunteer Rob was already there and we were joined shortly after by Holly, Maddy, and Rachel. Gear set up and it was all eyes on the water. A very quiet start followed by a very quiet middle and a very quiet end. In other words we saw very little. A few glimpses of fin tips were all they offered us today and in poor light conditions we decided to call it a day after a photographically fruitless session. I decided to try my luck at the breakwater and Rachel came with me. As soon as we got on the breakwater I could see dolphins at the far end so off we went before they moved off. We needn't have worried as they stayed around all the time we were there. Two mothers with calves casually playing and feeding but staying close in. The two calves were playing well and gave us quite a show as can be seen from the images below. We made our way off after nearly two hours and they were still performing as we drove away. Anyway enjoy the images and I'm sure there will be more in the weeks ahead.
