The timings were right for the flood tide at Strumble today so it was an early'ish start on a very dreary looking morning. The light was poor with very low cloud over the Garn and out to sea. A little clearer at Strumble though but the action was very slow to start. As the race formed I waited and waited and thought this was going to be a blank session. They did come in though and around twelve in total so still not the sort of numbers we would expect this time of year. It may well be a scarcity of food causing it with local fishermen reporting desperately low numbers of Mackerel being caught. In contrast Anglesey is sighting more than their usual numbers of porps and the Mackerel are more plentiful in that area. On the plus side old Denty our most frequently recorded marked porpoise was here again so it's nice to see all the locals haven't abandoned us.
