Strumble Round Up.

Easter is here and at last a bit of warmth in the weather. Such a relief after the easterly winds that have been chilling us this past few weeks. The porpoise that were high in numbers earlier in the month have now returned to average numbers as we return to the high spring tides. I've had two sightings of an individual Rissos Dolphin but can't tell if it was the same animal with the sightings being so brief and roughly two weeks apart. The Gannets are catching Garfish which usually heralds the mackerel so a good sign as we move forward. There's a good number of young seals moving about so last years pups seem to be doing OK. Today was my first outing for a while and with the sun on my back I settled in for a morning session on the ebb tide. There were porpoise very distant in what was left of the flood tide disturbance with several gannets in attendance but too far out for images. I got a sight of my second barrel jellyfish the first being last week. Another sign things are moving along. A few porpoise gathered off the point, stayed around for ten minutes or so before moving off toward Pen Anglas. A single porp came in close as the tide pushed through and this was the last sighting of the session. My eye was taken by a female Peregrine chasing a pigeon right in front of the lookout. Too quick to get the lens on it then but I did manage a shot or two as the gulls chased it off.  Have a great Easter break everyone and don't forget if you're local we have the Easter egg roll at the lookout this Easter Monday at 2.30pm.

Bye bye Mr Wrasse
