A boat trip from Ulva Ferry around Staffa and the Treshnish Isles aboard the "Hoy Lass" today was a bit of a treat with a chance meeting with Tim Stenton of "Shetland Wildlife" whom I had never met, but been in touch on FB, so that was nice to put a face to the name!
Have to say Fingals Cave did not really live up to Mendelssohn music but it was an experience to have visited it.
The Puffins were superb and wonderfully accepting of our proximity. I sat some distance away from one group and they soon came over to check me out! They were distributed all over the cliff edges so everyone could get a great view without the sort of outrageous shenanigans some visitors to the Wick on Skomer get up to.
Back on the boat we spotted a single Porpoise but sadly too brief a view to get a pic' for Holly!
I had some more great conversation with Ian the boats Skipper and Tim and learnt a lot about the wildlife on Mull and life in general on the Island, Thanks for a great trip Ian!
