Good morning Cliff , been out all weekend in and around Newport bay trying to spot things in the flat calm conditions but nothing except thousands of auks rafted  up in Ceibwr Bay on Sunday morning , all calling to each other ,the noise was like being on the cliffs in summer only it was adults and chicks calling each other  , an hour later when the breeze started and they were gone . Anyway my brother messaged me last night to say my two nephews were off the needle at Cwm-yr-Eglwys when a pod of about 50 commons turned up bow riding as they went along !  I have never seen them in the bay but quite a sight .  My brother and wife were both cursing having missed them . Almost booked one of the weekend trips but we're sold out by the time I could organise it , what cracking photos of the Rissos! .    Cheers  Steve Roberts

Thanks for this Steve! the Commons have been quite active in the area over the past week or so, we have seen them crossing Fishguard Bay from the Green Breakwater on a couple of occasions. It would be interesting how far they go! allthingsgood, cliff
