Strumble Diary 25/02/2020

A bright start to the morning but it soon turned cloudy and at one point the light nearly stopped me from shooting it was so poor. A strong westerly blowing with a strong ebb flow pushing against it created some very big swells mostly far out as the first fingers of the ebb flow pushed west. It was in these distant swells that the first porpoise of the tide were seen. Some 15 or so animals feeding well but mostly too distant for any meaningful images. It was at this point that Holly, Rob, Ruby and intern Alba arrived for their Tuesday survey and together we sighted as many as we could closer in before the strengthening tide pushed them down tide. All together I would estimate some 25-30 animals in total with the bonus of one marked porpoise in the count.
