Strumble Diary 13/07/2021

Another beautiful day in our little paradise which is north Pembrokeshire. But whilst the sunshine and warmth is more than welcome sadly the heat haze it brings with it is not, and nothing picks that up better than a long telephoto lens at full zoom. It becomes very difficult indeed to get reasonable pics of small porpoises at any sort of distance due to the distortion this effect causes. So today for instance out of some thirty images taken only two were "reasonable" but nowhere near good enough for ID purposes. We keep trying though and whilst we may not always get the images we want we are still gathering valuable data from our volunteer surveys, ie, numbers, frequency of sightings and behaviours.
