Strumble Diary 26/09/2021

A weather change brought stronger southerly winds today and the low risk of showers. I decided to visit the point with high hopes of seeing the Rissos that had been seen the previous day. I settled in and within ten minutes a large group of porpoise (10-12) came speeding through some distance out. This was shortly followed by a group of around a dozen or so common dolphin moving west. Things got quiet for a while until the tide race formed when several porpoise then came in to feed. I was joined by good friend John Rees and later by Cliff, Fran and Christina. By this time the numbers of animals out to the NW in the main tide race had increased significantly. As well as the porpoise Cliff and the others sighted commons feeding as well. All in all an excellent session with another marked animal recorded for the ID project.
