Strumble diary 15/03/2022

A blanket of high cloud and a chill breeze greeted me at strumble today. I arrived at the bottom of the tide in anticipation of getting in early for any action on the rising tide. A few porpoise meandered slowly past giving brief glimpses as they did so. As the tide increased the number of porps coming in to feed rose with it and at the peak there were a dozen at least ranging from the lighthouse to mackrel point, with most of the action at the latter.  Lots of Gannets in attendance throughout the afternoon helping guide me onto the porpoise. The veil of high cloud steadily thickened though and by sessions end the light was very poor indeed. The heavily marked porpoise seen last Saturday the 12th was back again as was one other from the same session but sadly I failed to get a good enough image of that one. A friendly Grey and a cute Rock Pippit were an extra little distraction in the quiet periods.
