Strumble Diary 14/03/2022

A stunning day today with a soft but chilled SW breeze and wall to wall sunshine. Having met Fran on the road to Strumble I was informed they'd had a good survey on the dropping tide late morning with porps visible through the session. So to the afternoon's rising tide and a change of location for a change. Instead of staying at the lookout where it can get really chilly in the shadows I made my way down to a rock ledge closer to the waterline. This offers a different perspective with the lower angle adding to the context of wave heights etc. Quiet for the first 15 mins or so but from then on it was action all the way. I was kept busy with porpoise at all angles. I'd guess about thirty through the session but it's hard to know exactly how many are really out there. No Risso's today sadly but an enjoyable session with the spring sunshine providing excellent light. Enjoy!!
