An afternoon visit to the breakwater in the hopes of connecting with the recently seen bottlenose dolphins was the order of the day. The only issue was the very gusty SE wind that makes things uncomfortable for the big lens with buffeting a real problem and I was using my car as a wind brake most of the time. Sat out at the far end I started scanning around and saw nothing for the first 45 minutes or so. Then I spotted the adult and calf plus one other about 200mtrs out and about half way to Pen Anglas. The sighting was brief and once they submerged I didn't see them again for a further 30 minutes or so when they suddenly appeared off the end of the breakwater. I watched them for fifteen minutes or so getting as many pics as I could and as I was following the big female just under the surface (through the lens) she accelerated quickly as if in chase of something or to answer a distant call and I quickly lost her. A few minutes later I picked them up again heading off toward Pen Anglas at a rate of knots and I could see in the distance two other large Bottlenose well out in the tide race. I hung around for a while in the hopes of a return but my last sight of them was heaing off NE in the direction of Cardigan Island.
